We've had a lot of questions from subscribers and followers about how people can support the project. You are both pulling off the seemingly impossible. I hope this summer is kind to you and you can eventually have at least a small part of your new home where you can shelter next winter. you have fantastic friends and neighbours. Hello from Georgia! I just bought a house built in 1930 back in September, but it doesn't need near as much work as your place, but I loved reading all of your stories and will keep up with your progress! I'm learning a lot about tools and processes as well! If you're into murder mysteries - I found a series that also includes DIY tips that revolves around a couple that flip houses and do renovation projects! The first book is called Fatal Fixer-Upper by Jennie Bentley. It's a bit of a beach read, but definitely have parallels to what you both are taking on!

donated to the restoration mainly cause you're putting my name on a wall and that now gives me a reason to visit Scotland :) I just want to tell you that I think you're doing a great job. I have an old late 1800s-early 1900s house that my wife and I are slowly rebuilding. Five years ago (I'm turning a really long story into a short story...I really need to post the long version to my website...) I lifted our whole house 8" on 4 giant steel beams, dug out the old crumbly basement walls ( the house was on concrete "walls" that only went 12-18" into the ground. Code calls for 48" in our area), and then built a new basement out of concrete blocks. We also added on a large addition that almost doubled the size of the house. For me, it was all the conflicting "advice" and "how you really should do this" that was worse than the actual work. I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown at times. I will now be faithfully following your blog posts...and donating money when I can. Hang in there and follow your instincts. You'll be fine.
